Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Calculatree (“Calculatree”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and calculators. Calculatree is operated from Canada. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.

The short version

• You do not need an account to use any calculator. The numbers you enter are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to us.
• Advertising and analytics cookies are denied by default. Nothing loads until you accept through our consent banner, and you can change your choice at any time.
• If you choose to sign in, we store only your email, a marketing opt-in flag, and aggregated counts of the categories and calculators you view — never the values you type.

Using the calculators (no account needed)

Every calculator on Calculatree runs locally in your web browser. The figures you enter — amounts, rates, dates, and so on — are computed on your device and are not transmitted to our servers or stored by us. You can use the entire site without signing in or providing any personal information.

Optional sign-in

You may optionally sign in with Google. We use Supabase as our authentication and database processor. If you sign in, we store:

• your email address;
• a marketing opt-in flag — whether you ticked the separate, explicit checkbox to receive emails (signing in is not marketing consent on its own); and
• aggregated interest counts — for example, how many times you have viewed a given category or calculator.

We do not store the values you enter into any calculator. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us at hello@calculatree.app. We will delete your stored email, opt-in flag, and interest counts on request.

Cookies & advertising

Calculatree is free and supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted.

We implement Google Consent Mode v2, and advertising and analytics storage are denied by default. No advertising or analytics cookies are set until you explicitly accept them through our consent banner. You can review and change your choices at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer, which reopens the consent banner.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate — for example, which calculators are most popular. Analytics is also denied by default under Consent Mode v2 and only runs after you accept. We use this data in aggregate and do not use it to identify you personally.

• Supabase — our authentication and data processor for optional sign-in. See Supabase’s Privacy Policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of marketing communications and personalized advertising. These rights are recognized under regimes including the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, and — as we are based in Canada — the federal PIPEDA and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@calculatree.app. You can withdraw advertising and analytics consent at any time via “Cookie settings” and withdraw marketing email consent at any time.

Data retention

If you sign in, we retain your account data (email, opt-in flag, and aggregated interest counts) for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the site. We delete it promptly on request, or after a reasonable period of inactivity. Calculator inputs are never stored, so there is nothing to retain.

Children

Calculatree is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
